If you have a Murrawarr  bark painting to sell please contact me. If you just want to know what your Murrawarr painting is worth to me please feel free to send me a Jpeg.  I would love to see it.

MARRUWARR YMurrawarr like most Oenpelli Bark painters painted on a Red ochre back Ground. He normally painted Kangaroos as his major theme. He also painted female figures. His kangaroo paintings are superficially similar to Lofty Nadjamerrek and Dick Murramurra but do not show the same sense of refinement. His kangaroos are shown in profile but with both eyes showing. His female figures have dotted large breasts

Along with many other Arnhem Land Artists who did bark paintings, there is not a lot of information available about Murrawarr. All I can find is that he was born around 1928 and died in 1979 at the age of 51.

He belonged to Marrirn Clan Kunwinjku Language and was of the Yirridjdja moiety. If anyone knows more information about the biography of Murrawarr,  please contact me as I would like to add it to this article..
